ஞான வெட்டியான்

Title in original script: ஞான வெட்டியான் The manuscript is composed of a text, incomplete, numbered from 1 to 138. It is in excellent condition. The text deals with many subjects related to the conception of human creation and physiology, philosophy and esotericism. Regarding human physiology, the text discusses embryology (karu uṟpatti), notably, the formation of sperm and ovum (vintu nāta piṟappu), process of fertilisation (karuttaritta vitam), the blend of the five elements for creating the fetus (pūta cērkkai), the four stages of fetal evolution (sweat, seed, egg and body) until birth (nālvakai piṟappu) and formation of the body (tēkam uṇṭāvatu), posture of the fetus in uterus (piṇṭa nilai), descend of the fetus (piṇṭa kīḻnōkku uṟṟa muṟai), time features at birth (caṉaṉa kāla taricaṉam), and characteristics at birth (piṟappu nilai), as well as causes of congenital deformity (kuṟai avayam varum vaḻi). The text details the types of human bodies (tēka viparam) and their physical aspects (kāya rūpam), the ten types of pulses (taca nāṭi) and the ten types of gases (taca vāyu: apāṇaṉ, prāṇaṉ, utāṇaṉ, viyāṇaṉ, camāṇaṉ, nākaṉ, kūrmaṉ, kirukaraṉ, taṉañceyaṉ and tēvatattaṉ), their regulation in the body and the function of taṉañceyaṉ. It indicates the number of veins and nerves (nāṭi narampukaḷiṉ tokai) and details the bones (elumpu viparam) and internal organs (uṭal uṟuppu). It describes the three humors (mukkōṇa viparam) and the diverse states of pulse (nāṭi vakai), the motor organs (intiriya viparam), the evolution of sense organs and their functions (poṟi pulaṉkaliṉ pañcīkaraṇam). Regarding philosophy, the text discusses the state of mind (maṉa nilai) and the way to get away from the three hindrances (mummala vācalkaḷ) (ego, karma and delusion), the state of beatitude (paripūraṇa nilai), the human qualities (kuṇa viparam), and action of solar and lunar reflux on human (cūriya cantira vallamai). Regarding esoteric subjects, the text describes the place of primary creation (āti karuvūrār) and the state of creation (pramma pati); the features of the six chakras (ātāra viḷakkam), and practice of deep respiration (pranayāma) to animate the six chakra-s (ātāra cuvāca nilai); the measurement of breath (iṭai piṉkalai aḷavu); the means to increase life expectancy (āyuḷ virutti); the appropriate use of na-ma-ci-va-ya (pañcāṭcaram); the path of wisdom (ñana mārkkam); and rebirth (maṟupiṟavi). It explains how gods act to destroy life (mupuram eritta īcaṉ ceyal). Some information on caste-based classification (cāti pakuppu) and on the Vēta (Sanskrit: Veda) are also exposed. Size of the manuscript 18,0cm x 3,5cm. The palm leaves of the text are numbered in Tamil and Arabic from 1 to 79, and then, in Arabic only from 80 to 138. The leaves 126 and 126 are missing. The manuscript has a blank leaf. It is in very good condition; some leaves are slighly affected by larvae and the third first are broken.
