The manuscript is in excellent condition. Text 1- The text, entitled Akattiyar Vētānta Tattuvam is complete; it consists of one hundred and two verses written palm leaves numbered from 1 to 16. The deals with embryology, philosophy and esotericism. Text 2- The text, entitled Vaḻalai Vakai Viparam, is incomplete. It consists in one hundred and five verses written on palm leaves numbered from 1 to 16 (the leaf n°13 is missing). The text presents some preparations such as iliṅka kaṭṭu mai (black paste used as eye liner in magic) and vaḻalai piṇṭa ceyaṇīr (a pungent liquid prepared by exposing some inorganic salts to the night’ temperature during winter) and purification of vaḻalai (fuller’s earth). It presents some concepts of embryology. Text 3- The text, entitled Nātānta Tiravukōl, consists of twenty nine verses written on the palm leaves numbered from 1 to 4. The text concerns spirituality. Text 4- The text, entitled Ñāṇa Tiravukōl, consists in thirty two verses written on the palm leaves numbered from 1 to 5. The text presents concepts of physiology, spirituality including yōkam. Text 5- The text, entitled Nātānta Cāram, contains forty verses einscribed on the palm leaves numbered 1, 4-6. It exposes some concepts of birth and death in relation with spirituality. Text 6- The text, entitled Iramatēvar Cūttiram, consists in two hundred and sixteen verses inscribed on the palm leaves numbered from 72 to 126 ( leaves 89; 102-111; 113; 118; 120-124 are missing). The text deals with alchemy and magic. It details three types of salts and vaḻalai (fuller’s earth) and some products used in alchemy and/or in therapeutics: Kuru vaḻalai; Vetiyuppu centūram and Kānta centūram; Navacāra cuṉṉam, Turucu cuṉṉam and Tālaka cuṉṉam; Iraca kaṭṭu, Nāka kaṭṭu, Kariyuppu kaṭṭu, Catiliṅka kaṭṭu, Karuvaṅka kaṭṭu and Pāṭāṇa kaṭṭu; ceyanīr; Cūta pataṅkam; Kaluppu tailam; Cūta untai; Kenti meḻuku. The text describes aṭṭakarmam, the eight magical acts which are: vacīyam (ability to attract a person under one’s own influence), mōkaṇam (ability to to cause libidinous fascination), ākaruṣaṇam (ability to make a spirit or an absent person visible), uccāṭaṇam (ability to send demoniac forces on a person to cause his/her ruin by reciting the appropriate mantiram), tampaṉam (ability to control the natural forces), vittuvēṣaṇam (ability to create hatred between two friends), pētaṇam (ability to provoke separation or desertion) and māraṇam (ability to cause death). Text 7- The text, entitled Iramatēvar Karumā Cūttira Kuru Nūl, consists of twenty nine verses written on palm leaves numbered from 1 to 3. It explains the preparation of a category of powerful medicines called kuru maruntu. Size of the manuscript: 30,4cm x 3,2cm. Text 1: 16 leaves numbered 1 to 16; text 2: 16 leaves numbered 1 to 16 (the leaf 13 is missing); text 3: 4 leaves numbered 1 to 4; text 4: 5 leaves numbered 1 to 5 ; text 5: 4 leaves numbered 1 , 4 to 6 (imcomplete); text 6: 37 leaves numbered 72 to 126 ( leaves missing 89; 102-111; 113; 118; 120-124); text 7: 3 leaves numbered 1 to 3.
