Svasthani Vrata Katha

This is a Hindu religious text that discuss about the female deity Sri Svasthani. It discusses about Saivite and Vaisnavite deities. The practice of the Vrata is still lively in Nepal. People observe a month long vrata practice and listenstory recitation for the period. This story is recited in the month of Magh Jan-Feb.. Non Newar Hindus use Devanagari printed book of story. This manuscript which is written in Newari language is used by the Newar people. Knowingly or unknowingly, Newar Buddhists also venerate the Hindu texts like this. It is in Newari language.It is in good condition. It was written in 1008 NS. One folio fol. 103 is missing. It was written by Harkha Bir Singh. 1888 CE.
