This volume contains letters written by Norman William Macdonald, Governor of Sierra Leone, between 22 April and 17 July 1851. The despatches in the volume contain information on the date and place of writing, the number of the despatch, and the signature of the sender. Some pages consist of a schedule of despatches sent on a specific date and provide information on the number of the despatch, its date, the subject and the number of enclosures. The length of the despatch varies from a short paragraph to several pages. The volume is tightly bound in red cloth boards. There are some traces of damage from iron gall.
