This volume contains letters written by the Governor-in-Chief of the West Africa Settlements to the Secretary of State for the Colonies between 20 June 1876 and 8 July 1878. Each despatch in the volume includes the date and place it was written, the number of the despatch, the name of the recipient, and the signature of the sender. The length of a despatch varies from one paragraph to several pages. There is extensive water damage on the cover, and the edges of the cover are breaking away.
