The volume contains information about cases brought before the Police Magistrate at the Police Court at Freetown between 1 June and 21 October 1854. The records of cases include the date, the names of the plaintiff and the defendant, and a short title relating to the case. The report of a case varies from a couple lines to several pages. The report sometimes includes the account of the constable or corporal of police, the plaintiff, the defendant, and witnesses. Information is also providing about sentencing. The volume is bound in a damaged brown cover, and the binding is loose. There is extensive damage from iron gall.
