The volume contains cases brought before the Police Magistrate at the Police Court at Freetown between 11 December 1862 and 12 October 1863. The volume contains an index that lists the case by name of the defendant, and provides information on the offence and the page number. The reporting of cases includes information on the date, the names of the plaintiff and the defendant, and the offence. Information is also included on the oath taken by the constable, the plaintiff, the defendant, and of witnesses. The volume includes reference to sentencing. The volume is bound in blue cloth boards. There is water damage, and some traces of damage from iron gall.
