The volume contains cases heard by the Police Magistrate for the Recovery of Small Debts in Freetown. It includes an index that lists the cases alphabetically by name of the plaintiff and gives the name of the defendant and the page number in the volume. For each case information is provided on the date, the name of the plaintiff and the defendant, the amount of the debt and whether they appeared in court. For those who appeared, it sometimes include their statements. The volume also includes reference to cases postponed. The cover and the spine are damaged, which means that some pages are loose. Additional pages have been added to the index and are also loose. There are some traces of water damage. In the metadata, this file is incorrectly described as Police Court Records.
