လောကနီတိနိဿယ

Bilingual translation of the Lokanīti. The present manuscript skips the colophon as do other known copies of this particular nissaya, hence the authorship of the work has not been yet established. In Burmese literary tradition, nīti texts were a genre of didactic poetry in Pali, adapted from and modelled on earlier Sanskrit materials of this genre. They include maxims intented as a guide for everyday conduct. The Lokanīti, alongside with Dhammanīti and Rajanīti, was one of the most popular works of this genre. Extent and format of original material: 1 fascicle of 25 inscribed and 1 uninscribed folios. Physical characteristics: Incomplete, folio kū missing, folio ku edge flaked. Has been repaired: folio ki broken into two pieces and mended, folios kī and ku stitched to hold fragments that have been flaked.
