Charm Box: Kau (Wylie ga’u) གའུ། or Nam thak (Wylie rnam thag) རྣམ་ཐག Approx 1850

A finely worked, silver fronted charm box, with eight auspicious symbols. The deity is Red Hyagryph / Tamdin (red face and red body). Back is brass with copper attachments. Dark red embroidered cloth cover and belt 445 x 110 x 55mm.

The material is owned by Meme Chettan Dorje and has been handed down from father to son through several generations of head Buchen. All the materials in the archive are kept within the prayer room of the house. This was not seen: materials were brought out into the living room to be surveyed and documented.
