Statue: Kunda (Wylie sku ’dra) སྐུ་འདྲ Approx 1850

Statue of Tangtong Gyalpo. Size 270mm high. Hand made from clay. Face and body painted. Covered in golden silk cloth, one five rupee banknote, pearl necklace garlands of artificial flowers, gold tinsel and beads. Seated on a lotus throne, holding iron chain links in one hand and a long life vase (tse bum) in the other. One statue.

The material is owned by Meme Chettan Dorje and has been handed down from father to son through several generations of head Buchen. All the materials in the archive are kept within the prayer room of the house. This was not seen: materials were brought out into the living room to be surveyed and documented.
