Senkesar - Synaxarion (Lives of saints) [1545-1555]

The manuscript is generally in very bad condition. The bookblock - deformed, shrunken in all margins due to water damage. The most serious damages occur in first few quires, were dark water stains on all margins and large losses of lower and outer part of folios are visible. Strong water stain is visible in final part of manuscript, where it occupies a significant part of folios. Edges of all folios are very weak, brittle, shrunken and in dark-brown colour. Shrinkage of margins caused creases of central part and further destruction of folios. All folios are dirty on all surface, but especially on all margins. The glass-like layer can be observed. Many of the folios has large losses of parchment base and in many places text is fuzzy due to water damage. The sewing of the book was very weak and was repaired by stab-stitching along the edges of the inner margins of all quires, additionally protected by strips of new parchment. The binding - very dirty and dilapidated bare wooden boards. Front cover broken and tied together with the use of wire in 3 places.
