Svayambhū Purāṇa

Svayambhū Purāṇa is a fifteenth century text. This manuscript discusses about Svayambhū Stupā. This Purāṇa is lively in Newār culture. It mainly focuses on origin of Kathmandu valley, twelve pilgrimages, eight holy sites and arrival of Mañju Śrī Bodhisattva. It is written in Newārī language with Pracalit Newārī script. It was copied in Nepal Samvat 1063 in Lalitpur. It is in a very good condition. Writing is very fine. It also carries twelve miniatures of various Svayambhū Stupa and Bodhisattvas.
