Buenos Aires Parque Chacabuco [1930s-1950s]

Description: Parque Chacabuco is, at the same time, a park and a neighbourhood that developed around the park. During the 19th century, this zone was known due to its gunpowder factory that came to an end in notorious explosion at the end of the century. In its place, the park was founded and designed by the famous landscape artist Carlos Thays. It was named after the battle of Chacabuco, one of the victories of General José de San Martín during the wars of Independence. Extent and format of original material: Envelope.
