Balcarce [1920s-1940s]

Description: Balcarce is a district and city in the province of Buenos Aires situated west of the city of Mar del Plata. It was named after Antonio González de Balcarce (1774-1819) an Argentine military who became governor of the, then, province of Buenos Aires, and president (Director Supremo) of Argentina. The main city and capital of the distrinct stands amidst agricultural lands that it’s the most important economic activity of the district.
