Description: Alfredo Lorenzo Palacios (1880 - 1965) was the first socialist politician to be elected as Deputy in the Congress in Argentina and in Latin American. He confronted the politics of the Infamous Decade (1930-43) and managed to pass many laws to defend the workers, women, and children. In 1932, he was elected Senator until the military coup of 1943.
