Labarden Teatro Infantil

Description: This institute was created in 1913 and its name was changed in 1928 to Instituto de Teatro Infantil Labardén. Its principle it’s the education of the children through art. It was a very severe institute of education very difficult to enter and remain. Among its professors we can name poet Alfonsina Storni and the recital diva Berta Singerman. Among its students there were Argentine famous actors and actresses such as Amelia Bence, Ángel Magaña, and Delia Garcés, among others. At that time, it educated children to act in the squares. In 1958 it was designated as Instituto Vocacional de Arte Infantil. During the dictatorship it stood as a focus of resistance and in 2001 it recovered its original name.
