Primer for teaching Malay writing (jawi/gundul) to beginners. Title page and aditional pages missing. This book was used by the owner’s mother to teach the children to read gundul. They were asked to read one page a night and present their lesson to the mother. Once they mastered the language through this book, they were given the longer hikayats to read. Creation dates: 1920s?.
Physical characteristics of original material: New plastic cover added to the book. Attempts have been made to restore pages; the parts containing writing have been cut and pasted on new white pages.
