The book's stated aim is to provide a simpler way to learn English grammar. Contains lesson, exercises, and questions specifically geared towards “Indian boys and girls” (p. 3). Book 1 is a simple introduction to letters, words, and sentences. The introduction notes that Books 2 and 3 (not available in Pu Zawna's collection) go on to teach parts of speech, tenses, inflexions, sentence structure, and so on. The cost for Book 1 was 7 annas. 32nd Volume (first published in 1925).
