Lusarreta Lola [1930s-1950s]

Description: This envelope tells us about Lola Lusarreta, an Argentine painter who succeeded in watercolours. As she descended from the Vasco city of Guernica in Spain, she painted Spanish themes and exhibited in this country. For instance she succeeded at the Circle of Arts in Madrid in 1934 attracting the interest and attention of colleagues and critics in Spain. The catalogue shows that her name was Lola de Lusarreta de Kempter. In 1939, she received a prize from the Argentine Women's Club (Club Argentino de Mujeres). This is a handmade envelope that contains three stationary envelopes comprising material such as photographs, newspapers’ and magazines’ clippings and articles, engravings, invitations, one art catalogue, and signatures.
