Castells Capurro Enrique [1930s-1950s]

Description: This envelope contains original illustrations and newspapers’ and magazines’ clippings and articles on Enrique Castells Capurro who was a painter and a sculptor in Argentina. He was born in Montevideo, Uruguay (1913-1987). Although he was a self-taught artist, he was heavily influenced by his uncle the artist Carlos Castells. Thus, Enrique’s central theme was the gauchos and the horses. His paintings and sculptures have been bought by collectors such as the British Queen Elizabeth II and the University of Texas at Austin that owns and exhibits four of his murals.
