Uriburu Francisco (Hijo) [1910s-1930s]

Description: This envelope contains three envelopes comprised of photographs, newspapers’ and magazines’ clippings and articles, engravings, bibliographic references, and drawings. Its subject is Francisco Uriburu (1871-1940) as well as his wedding and married life with Teodolina Lezica Alvear. He was the son of Senator Francisco Uriburu Patrón and, so, was born in a rich and politically conservative family. Francisco was also a politician and a polemic journalist who opposed universal male suffrage. He wrote and founded many newspapers such as El País, La Mañana, and La Fronda. Entrepreneur and politician, he became Minister of Economy during dictator Uriburu’s government in 1932. He died without heirs and in bankruptcy.
