Tatay Estancia [1920s]

Description: The large (10000 hectares) landed state of Tatay in Carmen de Areco, Buenos Aires, owned a dairy farm that started to function in 1900. The dairy farms were created in the 19th century as a response to the demand of English, Scottish and French population that arrived after Argentina’s independence from the Spanish metropolis. Milk was not consumed by the Spaniard, criollo, African-American, or Native-American population. This envelope shows the park, deposit, establishment and house of the landed estate.
