Colegio María Auxiliadora [1910s-1940s]

Description: This is a handmade envelope with one stationary envelope with articles and clippings from magazines and newspapers, photos and a booklet of the Institution dated 1872-1922. The envelope tells us about the school funded by the Hijas de María Auxiliadora, this religious institution followed the faith of Don Bosco—Saint Juan Bosco who was the founder of the Salesian Order in 1872 at Mornese (Italy). Their mission is to educate, specially, young and poor women. Don Bosco’s creed was based on love, reason, and religion with kindness and good as pedagogic weapons. The first Salesian sisters arrived in Argentina in the 1870s and, based in Buenos Aires, started to found various schools in different parts of the country.
