"Gädlä Gäbrä Mänfäs Qeddus (""The Acts of Gäbrä Mänfäs Qeddus"") [late 19th - first half of the 20th century]"

The manuscript contains the Acts, the Miracles of St. Gäbrä Mänfäs Qeddus whica read in the church on his feasts, one miniature and a donation note. The Vita of Gäbrä Mänfäs Qeddus (a 14th century Saint from South Ethiopia) is attested in several versions (s. Encyclopaedia Aethiopica II, 619-22). In North Ethiopia the hagiography of Gäbrä Mänfäs Qeddus started to become known from the 18th century; today, he is one of the most venerated saints in Tigray. The book was bought and donated by wäyzaro Dästa Gäbrä Sellase (89v).
