"Dawit ""Psalter"" [18th century]"

The Psalter is one of the most wide-spread works in Ethiopia, used for both the liturgy and private devotion (s. Encyclopaedia Aethiopica IV, 231-232.). Ethiopic Psalter usually includes, apart from the Psalms, also the Canticles of the Prophets, Song of Songs and Marian works. The manuscript contains Ethiopic Psalter; pen trials and a short hymn (?) on folios. 1-2, one miracle of St. Raphael and a marginal note (by a different hand, on folios. 199-200 which were probably added later). Scribe unknown; the handwriting is neat and carefully placed, appears to be a trained hand.
