The manuscript opens with a tale from the past about the death of Dyah Muninggar, the wife of a noble figure from the Menak lineage. The narrative continues with the story of King Kanjun, ruler of the kingdom of Parangakik, who is mourning the loss of his father. In the final section, Menak Jayeng Murti is summoned and arrives alone, without bringing any soldiers.
