The 'Rifle': a Boisterous Publication is a short newspaper created in direct response to the criticisms and accusations published by "El Rifle: A thunderous newspaper". Its editors condemn the Pezet administration for promoting satirical newspapers that spread distorted news about the Restorative Army and its military leaders. Just like the subversive caudillos, the newspaper asserts that General Pezet and his ministers betrayed national honor and sovereignty by signing the Vivanco-Pareja Treaty with the Spanish government. It further accuses the president of betraying the Republic’s values and rejecting the "Americanism" that unites South American nations against Spain’s military threats.
“El Rifle: publicación estrepitosa” es un breve periódico que responde directamente a las críticas y alegaciones de “El Rifle: periódico de estruendo”. Los editores denuncian que el gobierno de Pezet propicia la publicación de periódicos burlescos que imparten noticias alteradas sobre el Ejército Restaurador y sus líderes militares. De igual forma que los caudillos subversivos, el periódico sostiene que el general Pezet y sus ministros actuaron contra el honor y la soberanía nacional al firmar el tratado Vivanco-Pareja con el gobierno español. Acusa al presidente, además, de traicionar los valores de la República y rechazar el “americanismo” que une a las naciones sudamericanas contra las amenazas militares de España.
