The 'Diablo' is a satirical newspaper published in Arequipa during the outbreak of Mariano Ignacio Prado’s Restorative Revolution against the government of Juan Antonio Pezet. Its content is devoted exclusively to reporting on matters related to the revolution, as it is written in the very city where the movement is led. Nevertheless, the newspaper does not fully adhere to the revolutionary cause. Rather, it seeks to question Prado’s authority and to assess whether it is truly in the interest of the Arequipeño people to support the caudillo in the outbreak of this civil war.
"El Diablo" es un periódico satírico publicado en Arequipa durante el estallido de la Revolución Restauradora de Mariano Ignacio Prado contra el gobierno de Juan Antonio Pezet. Su contenido se dedica exclusivamente a informar sobre asuntos relacionados con la revolución, ya que se escribe en la misma ciudad donde se dirige el movimiento. Sin embargo, el periódico no se adhiere plenamente a la causa revolucionaria. Más bien, busca cuestionar la autoridad de Prado y evaluar si realmente conviene al pueblo arequipeño apoyar al caudillo en el estallido de esta guerra civil.
