The sluice pillar which was originally intalled in the Thiruvampaṭṭu tank is now shifted to the Tiṇḍivaṉam Public Works Department office. It was erected by Sempiyaṉ-uttara-mantri during the 21st regnal year of the king Rājēndhrachōḻa in 1033 CE.
