One is found on the pillar of the sluice of the tank called Periya-Kanmai and another at the base of the sluice located in the Aṉṉavāsal villageThis inscription is found at the base of the sluice of the tank located in the Aṉṉvāsal village. This sluice inscription refers to the erection of the sluice by Sri Aṇṇavāyil thachchar Chōlakaṉ Kūṟṟaṉ Chōlakaṉ Nakkaṉ probably during the 13th regnal year of Cēntañ-cēntaṉ. On the palaeographical ground, it could be dated to 8th century CE.
