En el año 1899, las comunicaciones sobre las funciones y servicios del hospicio registraron la siguiente información: el envío del presupuesto anual y los gastos mensuales, los reportes mensuales del movimiento de los pacientes y los cuadros de estadística médica. Se indica el número y los ingresos recaudados de los pacientes que son atendidos mensualmente. El cuerpo médico realiza un informe para la ampliación del departamento de hombres por medio de la sustitución del jardín contiguo por celdas y un patio para pensionistas. Por motivos de salud, el doctor Matías Bellido, jefe del gabinete electroterápico, renuncia al cargo y es sustituido por el facultativo Leónidas Avendaño. Se reporta la agresión verbal y física que sufrió el médico Wenceslao Mayorga a manos de un paciente. Se señala que el médico David Matto puede asumir el cargo de jefe del cuerpo médico del manicomio ya que ha cumplido con su preparación médica en Europa. Se exige a la madre superiora y la hermana boticaria solicitar los medicamentos mensuales del manicomio al depósito del Hospital de Santa Ana. Mensualmente se registran los medicamentos solicitados por la religiosa boticaria. Se indica que, después de tres años, llegó el pedido de aparatos y utensilios para el gabinete electroterápico. Se solicita la compra de fardos de tela para la vestimenta de los pacientes. Al poder adquirir nuevos libros de estadística y copiador de notas, el tenedor de libros pide a la dirección que las autoridades externas cumplan con registrar los datos completos de los pacientes que se derivan al hospicio. Se solicita a la madre superiora averiguar la identidad del guardián que supuestamente vende alcohol a los internos. Se advierte al Ministerio de Justicia que el manicomio no se hará responsable de la fuga de los reos o enjuiciados internados.
