Mahāpaṭṭhāna is the seventh book of the Abhidhamma explains the 24 factors and presents the causal relations of all the Dhammas. It is a scripture that the Buddha has prophesied that will be lost as the first book. Because it is a scripture with the delicate contents, profoundness, prudence and with the factors of ultimate reality. When the Buddha considered the 7 Abhidhamma scriptures, starting from the 1st to 6th scriptures respectively, nothing special happened. However, when the Buddha considered this seventh book, six rays emerged from his body. Colophon: Folio 41 on the recto side: Sisumangkhala Sangkat (CS) 1292, a kot sanga year, on the fifteenth day of the waxing moon of the seventh lunar month, the fourth day of the week (Wednesday), the writing was accomplished at the time of kòng ngai (between 7.30–9.00 o’clock). The initiator, Rattanapannya sponsored the making of this manuscript entitled Phra Mahapatthan(Mahāpatthāna) to dedicate to my mother named Sao La and my father named Nai (Mr) Küm, to Sao Chantha, Thit Phila and Aunt Chan and to support the Teachings of the Buddha to last until the end of 5000 years. May the results of this merit be a condition for Nirvana and cut the five obstructions off and reach Nirvana as my wishes. Arahantī homi nibbāna paccayo honto no niccaṃ dhuvaṃ (May I obtain Arahantship. May this be a condition for us to reach Nirvana, constantly and certainly).
