Vinaya text of Pacittiya, the content tells the cause of the prescription of the offence of Pacittiya. On one occasion, while dwelling at the Jetavana monastery in Savatthi, the Buddha spoke about Sabbaggiya bhikkhus (a group of six monks) who used rains-cloth in different scales. The Buddha has decreed that any bhikkhu who is going to make the rains-cloth, it must be not more than 6 palm spans long and not more than 2 palm spans wide. Any bhikkhu who commits more than that must be confessed. The cloth must be cut before the confession.
