When the Bodhisatta was born from the womb of Princess Mathuracitta, one month later his mother died. Devas looked after the Bodhisatta in the forest by giving him ambrosia. Later, Pukamatanha who was 126 years old and his wife lived in Devadaha city entered the Himalaya forest and found the baby. They brought the baby to their house and gave him a name Suvannaphomma.
