Visalur

This inscription is found on the western pillar of the sluice called Periyakuḷam located on the northern part of the Visalūr village tank near Kuḍimiyāṉmalai. This sluice was erected by the Ciṟṟaiyūṟ Viṇṇakkaṉ Niṟai-c-cantiraṉ. On the palaeographical ground, it could be dated to 9th century CE. Inscription: Svasti srī ciṟ/ ṟaiyūr pa..tan/ ..tāṉāyiṉa vi/ ṇṇa nakkaṉ/ niṟaic cantiraṉ/ seyvitta/ ciṟuṅ kaṟkāl. குடுமியான்மலைக்கு அருகில் உள்ள விசலூர் பெரிய குளத்து மேற்கு மடைத்தூணில் இக்கல்வெட்டு உள்ளது. குளத்தின் வடக்குப்பகுதியில் அமைந்துள்ள குமிழி குளத்தின் உள்ளே உள்ளது. இந்த குளம் விசலூர் கிராமத்தை சார்ந்தது. இக்குமுழியை சிற்றையூர் விண்ணக்கன் நிறைச் சந்திரன் என்பவள் அமைத்ததாகக் கூறுகிறது. எழுத்தமைதியின் அடிப்படையில் இது கி.பி.9ஆம் நூற்றாண்டை சார்ந்ததாகும். கல்வெட்டு: ஸ்வஸ்தி ஸ்ரீ சிற்/ றையூர் ப.. தந்/ ..டானாயின வி/ ண்ண நக்கன்/ நிறைச் சந்திரன் / செய்வித்த/ சிறுங் கற்கால்.
