Valylokam-1

This inscription is found on the pillar of the sluice called Periyamaḍai located on the northern part of the Vayalōkam village tank. This sluice was erected by Taṉ Kāḍaṉ Bīmaṉ. On the palaeographical ground, it could be dated to 13th century CE. Inscription: Svasti srī/ tīraṅkāṭi/ ceyvit/ ta kumiḻi. வயலோகம் பெரிய கண்மாயின் பெரிய மடைத்தூணில் இக்கல்வெட்டு உள்ளது. குளத்தின் தெற்குப்பகுதியில் அமைந்துள்ள குமிழி குளத்தின் உள்ளே உள்ளது. இந்த குளம் வயலோகம் கிராமத்தை சார்ந்தது. இக்குமுழியை தீரங்காடி என்பவன் அமைத்ததாகக் கூறுகிறது. எழுத்தமைதியின் அடிப்படையில் இது கி.பி.10ஆம் நூற்றாண்டை சார்ந்ததாகும். கல்வெட்டு: ஸ்வஸ்தி ஸ்ரீ/ தீரங்காடி/ செய்வித்/ த குமிழி.
