Uppiliyakkudi

This inscription is found on the western pillar of the sluice of the tank located in the Uppliyakkuḍi village. This inscription refers to the erection of the sluice by Chōḻappēraiyaṉ. On the palaeographical ground, it could be dated to the 11th century CE. Inscription: svasti srī/ kuḷamaṅ/ kalaṉāṭ/ ṭu teṅ/ kaṅku/ ṭaiyā/ ṉ pa[mu]/ ṭi ēt/ ta pāta[m]/ āṉa pa / lamuṭi/ koṉ/ ṭa chōḻa/ p pērai/ yaṉ ṉā/ ṭṭi vit/ ta maṇa/ vāḷa kā/ llu. உப்பிலியக்குடி கண்மாயின் மேற்கு மடைத்தூணில் இக்கல்வெட்டு உள்ளது. குமிழி குளத்தின் உள்ளே உள்ளது. இந்த குளம் உப்பிலியக்குடி கிராமத்தை சார்ந்தது. இக்குமுழியை சோழப் பேரையன் அமைத்ததாக கூறுகிறது. எழுத்தமைதியின் அடிப்படையில் இது கி.பி.11ஆம் நூற்றாண்டை சார்ந்ததாகும். கல்வெட்டு: ஸ்வஸ்தி ஸ்ரீ/ குளமங்/ கல னாட்/ டு தெங்/ கங்கு/ டையா/ ன் பா[மு]/ டி ஏத்/ த பாத[ம்]/ ஆன ப/ லமுடி/ கொண்/ ட சோழ/ ப் பேரை/ யன் னா/ ட்டி வித்/ த மண/ வாள கல்/ லு.
