Udaiyalipatti

This inscription is found on the pillar of the sluice of the tank called Pichchikuḍi Periykuḷam located in the Uḍaiyāḷippaṭṭi village. This sluice was erected by the Vaḷacikuḍi Maturāntaka Muttaraiyaṉ Vaciṭṭaṉ. On the palaeographical ground, it could be dated to 10th century CE. Inscription: matirāṉtaka mu/ ttaŗaiyan eṉpa/ tu ikkāl itu se/ yi viccu pērittēn/ valacikkudi nāyaka/ ṉ cīr nakkan cerumataṉ. உடையாளிப்பட்டி பிச்சிகுடி பெரிய குளத்து மடைத்தூணில் இக்கல்வெட்டு உள்ளது. குமிழி குளத்தின் உள்ளே உள்ளது. இந்த குளம் உடையாளிப்பட்டி கிராமத்தை சார்ந்தது. இக்குமுழியை வளசிகுடி மதுராந்தக முத்தரையன் வசிட்டன் என்பவள் அமைத்ததாகக் கூறுகிறது. எழுத்தமைதியின் அடிப்படையில் இது கி.பி.10ஆம் நூற்றாண்டை சார்ந்ததாகும். கல்வெட்டு: மதிராந்தக மு/ த்தரையன் எந்ப/ து இக்கால் இது செ/ ய் விச்சு பேரிட்டேன்/ வளசிக்குடி நாயக / ன் சீர் நக்கன் செருமதந்.
