Tennampadi

This inscription is found on the western pillar of the sluice of the tank called Periyakaṇmāi located in the Teṉṉampāḍi village. This inscription refers to the erection of the sluice by Olōka Vijjātira-talai-kōli probably during regin of Kulōttuṅga-III. On the palaeographical ground it could be dated to 1242 CE. Inscription: svasti srī ik/ [ku]miḻi kolō/ tuṅka chōḻa / n itu ceyvi/ ttāḷ nakkan/ oṟṟiūr naṅkai/ makaḷ uṭai / yāḷāna o/ lōka vijjādhira/ talaik kōli/ yār tattam srī. தென்னம்பாடி பெரிய கண்மாய் மேற்கு மடைத்தூணில் இக்கல்வெட்டு உள்ளது. குமிழி குளத்தின் உள்ளே உள்ளது. இந்த குளம் தென்னம்பாடி கிராமத்தை சார்ந்தது. இக்குமுழியை மூன்றாம் குலோத்துங்க சோழன் காலத்தில் ஒலோக விஜ்ஜாதிரதலைக் கோலியார் அமைத்ததாக கூறுகிறது. எழுத்தமைதியின் அடிப்படையில் இது கி.பி.13-ஆம் நூற்றாண்டை சார்ந்ததாகும். கல்வெட்டு: ஸ்வஸ்திஸ்ரீ இக்/ (கு)மிழி கொலொ/ த்துங்க சோழ/ ந் இது செய்வி/ த்தாள் நக்கந்/ ஒற்றி ஊரநங்கை/ மகள் உடை/ யாளாந ஒ/ லோக விஜ்ஜாதிர/ தலைக் கோலி/ யார் தத்தம் ஸ்ரீ.
