Tayinipatti

The sluice was erected in the tank called Peruṅkuḍipaṭṭi-Kaṇmāi of Tāyiṉipaṭṭi village. The inscription is noticed on the eastern pillar of the sluice. The inscription refers to the installation of the sluice by Tiruchchiṟṟambalam Uḍaiyāṉ. On palaeographical ground it could be dated to 10th century CE. Inscription: Svasti/ srī tiruchchi/ ṟṟamlala/ m uḍai/ yāṉ. தாயினிபட்டி ஊரை சார்ந்த பெருங்குடிபட்டி குளத்தில் காணப்படும் குமுழியின் கீழ்புற கல்லில் கல்வெட்டு காணப்படுகிறது. இக்குமிமிழியை திருச்சிறற்ம்பலம் உடையான் எழுப்பித்தாக கூறுகிறது. எழுத்தமைதியின் அடிப்படையில் இதன் காலம் 10ஆம் நூற்றாண்டு எனலாம். கல்வெட்டு: ஸ்வஸ்தி/ ஸ்ரீ திருச்சி/ றற்ம்பல/ ம் உடை/ யான்.
