Senaiyakudi

This inscription is found on the old sluice located on the northern part of the Seṉyakkuḍi tank called Periyakaṇmāi. This sluice was erected by the Tāṉaiyakkuḍi Kaṇattāṉ Sakthi. On the palaeographical ground, it could be dated to 10th century CE. Inscription: Svasti srī/kōvirāja/ kēcari panma/ ṟku yāṇṭu/ 5 āvatu vaṭa/ ciṟuvāyi nā/ ṭṭut tāṉaiyi/ kkuṭi kaṇa / ttāṉ sat/ ti nāṭṭiṉa/ kumiḻik/ kāl. செனையக்குடி பெரிய கண்மாயின் பழைய நடு மடைத்தூணில் இக்கல்வெட்டு உள்ளது. குளத்தின் வடக்குப்பகுதியில் அமைந்துள்ள குமிழி குளத்தின் உள்ளே உள்ளது. இந்த குளம் செனையக்குடி கிராமத்தை சார்ந்தது. இக்குமுழியை தானையக்குடி கணத்தான் சக்தி என்பவன் அமைத்ததாகக் கூறுகிறது. எழுத்தமைதியின் அடிப்படையில் இது கி.பி.10ஆம் நூற்றாண்டை சார்ந்ததாகும். கல்வெட்டு: ஸ்வஸ்தி ஸ்ரீ/ கோவி ராஜ/ கேசரி பந்ம/ ற்கு யாண்டு/ 5வது வட/ சிறுவாயி நா/ ட்டுத் தானையி/ க்குடி கண/ த்தான் சத்/ தி நாட்டின/ குமிழிக்/ கால்.
