Sembattur

The sluice was erected in the tank called Periya-kaṇmāi of Sembāttūr village. The inscription refers to the erection of one of the pillars called Peṭṭaikkāl by Koṟṟaṅkāri of Srī Kuḷamaṅgalam. It belongs to 10th century CE. Inscription: srī kuḷamaṅga/ lattu koṟṟa/ ṅkāriyēn/ niṟuttiṉa/ peṭṭaikkāl. செம்பாட்டூர் ஊரின் பெரியகணமாய் என்றழைக்கப்படும் குளத்தில் காணப்படும் குமுழியின் நிலைக்கல்லில் கல்வெட்டு காணப்படுகிறது. இக்கல்வெட்டு ஸ்ரீ குளமங்கலத்தைச் சார்ந்த கொற்றங்காரி என்பவன் குமுழியின் பெட்டைகாலினை நிறுத்தியதை குறிக்கிறது. இதன் காலம் 10ஆம் நூற்றாண்டு. கல்வெட்டு: ஸ்ரீ குளமங்க/ லத்து கொற்ற/ ங்காரியேன்/ நிறுத்தின/ பெட்டைக்கால்.
