Satyamangalam

This inscription is found on the old sluice located on the northern part of the Satyamaṅgalam tank called Ālaṅkaṇmāi. This sluice was erected by the Mālai Tirypperumāṉ alias Muḍikoṇḍa Chōḻa Nāḍāḻvāṉ. On the palaeographical ground, it could be dated to 11th century CE. Inscription: Svasti srī/ intak kumi/ ḻiyil maṇa/ vāḷakkāl cē/ vittāṉ iv/ vūruṭaiyāṉ/ mālai tirup/ perumāṉāna/ muṭikoṇ/ ṭa chōḻa nāḍā/ ḻvāṉ. சத்தியமங்கலம் ஆலங்கண்மாயின் பழைய மடைத்தூணில் இக்கல்வெட்டு உள்ளது. குளத்தின் வடக்குப்பகுதியில் அமைந்துள்ள குமிழி குளத்தின் உள்ளே உள்ளது. இந்த குளம் சத்தியமங்கலம் கிராமத்தை சார்ந்தது. இக்குமுழியை மாலை திருப்பெருமான் (எ) முடி கொண்ட சோழ நாடாழ்வான் என்பவன் அமைத்ததாகக் கூறுகிறது. எழுத்தமைதியின் அடிப்படையில் இது கி.பி.11ஆம் நூற்றாண்டை சார்ந்ததாகும். கல்வெட்டு ஸ்வஸ்தி ஸ்ரீ/ இந்தக் குமி ழியில் மண/ வாளக்கால் சே/ வித்தான் இவ்/ வூருடையான்/ மாலை திருப்/ பெருமானாந / முடிகொண்/ ட சோழ நாடா/ ழ்வான்.
