Pasumalaipatti-1

This inscription is found on the northern pillar of the sluice of the tank called Periyakaṇmāi located in the Pasumalaippaṭṭi village. This inscription refers to the erection of the sluice by Srī Murikollaṉ. On the palaeographical ground, it could be dated to the 7th century CE. Inscription: srī murikollaṉ/ cēvitta/ kumiḻi/ itu cēta ta/ ccaṉ kaṭṭaṉarai/ yaṉukku (ku)ṭupita cē/ yi (o)ru māvarai. பசுமலைப்பட்டி பெரிய கண்மாயின் வடக்கு மடைத்தூணில் இக்கல்வெட்டு உள்ளது. குமிழி குளத்தின் உள்ளே உள்ளது. இந்த குளம் பசுமலைப்பட்டி கிராமத்தை சார்ந்தது. இக்குமுழியை ஸ்ரீமுரிகொல்லன் என்பவன் அமைத்ததாக கூறுகிறது. எழுத்தமைதியின் அடிப்படையில் இது கி.பி.7-ஆம் நூற்றாண்டை சார்ந்ததாகும். கல்வெட்டு: ஸ்ரீமுரிகொல்லன்/ சேவித்த/ குமிழி/ இதுசேதத/ ச்சன் கட்டனரை/ யனுக்கு (கு)டுபிதசே/ ய்(ஒ)ருமாவரை.
