Odukkur-2

This sluice inscription is engraved on the central pillar of the periyamaḍai located on the eastern part of the tank belongs to the Oḍukkūr village. This sluice was installed by Āṇḍi makaṉ meyyakkuḍumbaṉ. On the palaeographical ground it could be dated to 18th century CE. Inscription: srī matu/ varatarā/ cat to/ ṇṭai/ māṉār .u./ kumāra/ rumaṇi/ yakā/ raṉ. u./ kāṇi/ kumiḻi/ āṇ/ ṭi maka/ ṉ me/ yyak ku/ ṭumpaṉ. ஒடுக்கூர் பெரிய கண்மாயின் நடு மடைத்தூணில் இக்கல்வெட்டு உள்ளது. குளத்தின் கிழக்குப்பகுதியில் அமைந்துள்ள குமிழி குளத்தின் உள்ளே உள்ளது. இந்த குளம் ஒடுக்கூர் கிராமத்தை சார்ந்தது. இக்குமுழியை ஆண்டி மகன் மெய்யக்குடும்பன் என்பவன் அமைத்ததாகக் கூறுகிறது. எழுத்தமைதியின் அடிப்படையில் இது கி.பி.18ஆம் நூற்றாண்டை சார்ந்ததாகும். கல்வெட்டு: ஸ்ரீ மது/ வரதரா/ சத் தொ/ ண்டை/ மானார்.உ/ குமார/ ரு மணி/ யகா/ றன்.உ/ காணி/ குமிழி/ ஆண்/ டிமக/ ன்மெ/ ய்யக்கு/ டும்பன்.உ.
