Nodiyur

This inscription is found on the pillar of the sluice of the tank located in the Noḍiyūr village. This sluice inscription refers to the erection of the sluice by [Arai]yaṉ Viḷakkaṉ Iraṇa Siṅga Muttaraiyaṉ of Maṅgalanallūr lies in Kīlceṅkiḷi-nāḍu. On the palaeographical ground, it could be dated to 10th century CE. Inscription: svatti srī/ kōvirāja kē/ sari paṉmaṟk/ ku yāṇṭu pa(t)tā/ vatu kīḷseṅki/ ḷi nāṭṭu maṅkala / naḷḷūr (arai)ya/ n viḷakkaṉ iraṇa ciṅka/ muttaraiyaṉ/ cēvitta kumi/ ḻi. நொடியூர் மருதநேரிக் கண்மாய் மடைத்தூணில் இக்கல்வெட்டு உள்ளது. குமிழி குளத்தின் உள்ளே உள்ளது. இந்த குளம் நொடியூர் கிராமத்தை சார்ந்தது. இக்குமுழியில் கீழ்செங்கிளி நாட்டு மங்கலநல்லூர் (அரை)யன் விளக்கன் இரண சிங்க முத்தரையன் அமைத்ததாக கூறுகிறது. எழுத்தமைதியின் அடிப்படையில் இது கி.பி.10ஆம் நூற்றாண்டை சார்ந்ததாகும். கல்வெட்டு: ஸ்வத்தி ஸ்ரீ/ கோவிராஜ கே/ சரி பன்மற்க்/ கு யாண்டு ப(த்)தா/ வது கீழ்செங்கி/ ளி நாட்டு மங்கல /நல்லூர் (அரை)ய/ ந் விளக்கன் இரண சிங்க/ முத்தரையன்/ சேவித்த குமி/ ழி.
