Arasamalai-2

This sluice, called periyamadai, is located close to the bank at the centre of the tank. It belongs to the village Arasamalai. The inscription refers to the sluice. On the palaeographical ground, it is dated to the 11th century CE. Inscription: tēruḍa/vētan nā/maṇi[pā]ṭa. இக்குளத்தின் மையப்பகுதியில் அமைந்துள்ள பெரியமடை என்று அழைக்கப்படுகின்ற குமிழி குளத்தின் கரைக்கு அருகாமையில் உள்ளது. இந்த குளம் அரசமலை கிராமத்தை சார்ந்தது. எழுத்தமைதியின் அடிப்படையில் இது கி.பி.11ஆம் நூற்றாண்டை சார்ந்ததாகும். கல்வெட்டு: தேர் உடை/ வேந்தந் நா/ மணி (பா)ட.
