Nachchiyarpatti

This inscription is found on the southern pillar of the sluice of the tank called Periyakaṇmāi located in the Nāchchyārpaṭṭi village. This inscription refers to the erection of the sluice by Maṅgaṉaṉ Teṉkoṇḍāṉ. On the palaeographical ground, it could be dated to the 17th century CE. Inscription: visaiya/ varusam/ cittirai/ mī 15 u/ maṅkanan/ tenko/ ṇtā/ ṉ kaṭṭi/ vitta ku/ ḻumi. நாச்சியார்பட்டி பெரிய கண்மாயின் தெற்கு மடைத்தூணில் இக்கல்வெட்டு உள்ளது. குமிழி குளத்தின் உள்ளே உள்ளது. இந்த குளம் நாச்சியார்பட்டி கிராமத்தை சார்ந்தது. இக்குமுழியை மங்கனன் தென்கொண்டான் என்பவன் அமைத்ததாக கூறுகிறது. எழுத்தமைதியின் அடிப்படையில் இது கி.பி17-ஆம் நூற்றாண்டை சார்ந்ததாகும். கல்வெட்டு: விசைய/ வருஷம்/ சித்திரை/ மீ15உ/ மங்கநன்/ தென்கொ/ ண்டா/ ன்கட்டி/ வித்தகு/ ழுமி.
