Kulavaypatti

This inscription is found on the pillar of the centre sluice of the tank located in the K.Kuḷavāipaṭṭi village. This inscription refers to the erection of the sluice by Veṅkaṭṭi. On the palaeographical ground, it could be dated to the 17th – 18th century CE. Inscription: vikā/ ri varuṭam/ 6m mu/ tal/ itti/ ruttū/ ṇu kaṇ/ ḍa kāḷu/ m kyLamu/ m kaṇtu ku/ muḻiyum / ceyvuitta/ paṭi veṅ/ kaṭṭi. குளவாய்பட்டி பெரிய கண்மாயின் மேற்கு மடைத்தூணில் இக்கல்வெட்டு உள்ளது. குமிழி குளத்தின் உள்ளே உள்ளது. இந்த குளம் குளவாய்பட்டி கிராமத்தை சார்ந்தது. இக்குமுழியை வெங்கட்டி அமைத்ததாக கூறுகிறது. எழுத்தமைதியின் அடிப்படையில் இது கி.பி17-18ஆம் நூற்றாண்டை சார்ந்ததாகும். கல்வெட்டு: விகா/ ரி வருடம்/ 6 ம் மு/ தல்/ இத்தி/ ருத்தூ/ ணூ கண்/ டகாலு/ ம் குளமு/ ம் கண்டு கு/ ழுமியும்/ செய்வித்த/ படி வெங்/ கட்டி.
